Biothane for Manufacturers FAQ's

Delta Canine Training Products Ltd is New Zealand's authorised distributor of BioThane® (USA) coated webbing.

If you'd like to purchase BioThane rolls for manufacturing, please contact us to discuss wholesale pricing and how to order rolls through our website.  We provide a password to the rolls page as it is not available to the general public.

Colours and widths

We stock as wide a range as possible, but given the breadth of BioThane options available  we can't carry all profiles here in New Zealand. We are adding options all the time but you're looking for a specific colour, width, or coating, we can order it in for you. Note that some specialty colours carry a high minimum order quantity (usually 10 rolls) — get in touch if you'd like to explore this.

Why can't I buy certain colours?

Some colours are manufactured exclusively for large companies who have ordered them to their own specifications. If you're interested in having a colour made to order for your business, we can arrange a quote.  Here is some information from BioThane on MTO and Specialty colours:

Made-to-Order (MTO) and Specialty Colours (information from BioThane USA)

What is the difference between a made-to-order (MTO) item and an MTO specialty colour?
There are price differences between a standard MTO item and an MTO specialty colour item.

Can I order a MTO item in less than 1,000 feet?
Yes — a 300-foot trial run is available at 1.5× the 1,000-foot price. This is offered as a one-time trial only.

What is the lead time for MTO items?
Typically 4–6 weeks from receipt of order.

What is the best way to ship or store Beta colour rolls or finished products?

Beta colours should be displayed, stored, or shipped without contact with other colours due to the potential migration of one colour to another. Fluorescent colours are the most susceptible. We recommend that you don’t store different-coloured rolls together, or at least keep each roll or product in a plastic bag to prevent colour transfer.

Will Beta colours "bleed" or transfer onto other surfaces like hair, skin, or fabric?

It is possible for certain colours, especially fluorescent colours, to transfer from the Beta rolls or finished products onto hair, skin or fabric. These colours are not hazardous and they should not present a health or safety hazard.  If colour transfer happens, wash with soap and water. If irritation persists, get medical attention.
